Hi. My name is "Sammy." I am a 30 something year old gelding. I was rescued in October, 2005. I was severely starved, and my coat was completely rain-rotted. I also had pneumonia which caused bleeding from my lungs. When I was rescued I was given little hope for survival because all my teeth were either missing or so worn down that it was impossible for me to chew ruffage, such as hay. The only food that I could eat was grains because grains did not require me to chew it as much. Because of the care given me by the WI Horse Haven Rescue people who did not give up on me, I have fully recovered. Aren't I adorable? I am available for adoption as a companion horse only.
